2022 Solo Artist Competition

Our 2022 CanAmerican Flute Symposium Solo Artist Competition features solo flute repertoire from prominent Canadian and American composers.

Repertoire requirements include:

Yuhwa by Adolphus Hailstork

Sonata for Flute and Piano by Gary Kulesha – Movement 1 (to be recorded unaccompanied)

Deadline: July 15, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern/New York Time (apply by filling out the form submission linked below)

Submission Guidelines:

Recordings must be submitted unaccompanied and as audio files only (mp3 or wav)

Please note: There is NO age limit for this competition. This competition is open to all.

Competition applicants will submit their audio files via google drive or dropbox link in the application form below and make a non-refundable $25 USD payment to CanAmerican Flute Symposium.

First prize includes a Silver Handmade Haynes Headjoint and cash prizes for second and third prize winners. Competition results will be announced on zoom by Wm. S. Haynes Co. on Sunday, July 31 at 2pm Eastern. Competition applicants will receive the zoom link upon confirmation of their submission.
